Meghan McKenzie

I am a senior at MSU.  If all goes well, I am planning on graduating next summer.  Since I haven't studied abroad yet, I am hoping to delay my graduation a semester and study in either France or Ireland the summer after my senior year.

Once I graduate, I will be taking a year off to try to save some money, get more experience, and hopefully have a little bit of fun before I become a graduate student.  I haven't decided yet which schools I would like to apply to, but I would like to enter either a PsyD program or a PhD program in clinical psychology.

In the Burt lab, I video coding videos in the twin study, and transcribing tapes in the college study.  Last year, I was a video coder for the Mother Infant Study, and enjoyed it so much I thought I'd continue coding for another study.  Also, I am currently a child interviewer for the Mother Infant Study.

Even though being a student and working in lab research is practically a job in itself, I also work at a law firm and a coffee shop in downtown Lansing - I'm an avid coffee drinker.  If I don't get my cup every morning, I usually have a huge headache by the afternoon.  I also take voice lessons once a week, and occasionally perform at Magdelina's Teahouse.  Music is a really big part of my life, and I absolutely love listening and performing all types of music.  Another hobby of mine is reading books when I can find the time.  My favorites are To Kill A Mockingbird and Pride and Prejudice (it's pretty difficult to find girl who doesn't love it).  I'm also a huge fan of Harry Potter; it's one of my guilty pleasures.
